Working With Us

Teaching with KIPP Miami is a unique experience. We strive to build the most kid-focused schools on earth, where kids run to school every day and teachers feel energized, empowered and heard.

We never give up on kids and believe in the potential of ALL children. Our schools aim to give them the education and tools that enable them to lead choice-filled lives. Help them find their voices, and feel they are both known and loved for who they are.

We approach our relationship with our teachers in the same way.

We encourage your individuality and voice to shine both inside and outside the classroom. You are on the front lines of delivering on our mission every day, nurturing young minds and changing lives. We want to support and grow your passion for teaching and hear your ideas so we can grow together.

KIPP Miami opened in August 2018, and now operates free, public, open-enrollment charter schools in Miami’s Liberty City and West Little River neighborhoods. Currently, KIPP Miami educates students in grades K-2 at KIPP Sunrise Academy and grades 5-6 at KIPP Liberty Academy. We are growing and you could be the next addition to a diverse, talented team that is defining what it means to be a great school in an empowered community.

What Makes Working with KIPP Miami Different?

KIPP Miami has created a network of schools where students are prepared to succeed in college and beyond. Our schools provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment with minimal distractions so our students love school and maximize their learning.

We also empower our highly-skilled teachers and leaders, investing in leadership and training to ensure we’re creating schools that allow all children to have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths necessary to lead choice-filled lives.

Through our collective hard work and commitment, our goal is that our students graduate from college and go on to lead choice-filled lives–and we’re confident in our model: KIPP students attend college at the same rate as students from families in the top income quartile of students, nationally.

What Can You Expect as a KIPP Miami Teacher?

When you work with us, you become part of something bigger, which is why we make sure that our teachers and staff get all the support they need. As a teacher at KIPP Miami, you’ll find:

  • Ongoing professional development, with weekly one-on-one meetings and workshops to encourage the sharing of best practices, challenges and experiences. We believe in improving and growing in a team environment.
  • Highly competitive starting salaries, staff-wide awards ceremonies, an annual gala event and recognitions that can reach up to $10,000.
  • Support for first-year teachers, including weekly observations and all-star mentorship from veteran teachers who help them learn the ins and outs of leading their own classes.
  • Lots of fun! Whether it’s enlisting students to prank coworkers or hosting staff-wide awards ceremonies, having a great time is one of our top priorities.
  • Opportunities to get to know families and engage with kids after school through extracurricular activities, family nights, and community events.
  • Classroom technology, from smartboards and document cameras to wireless networking on all campuses. And we have an extensive tech support team that ensures every support request is handled within two days.
  • If you’re the kind of person who is dedicated to teaching not because it’s a job, but because making a difference in the lives of children is your passion, working with KIPP Miami may be a great fit.
